The purpose of the licensing specialist role is to support and guide our business units in the approach towards licensing, audits and asset management.

As the group licensing specialist, you will work closely with a number of key departments including procurement and digital and innovative technology to identify requirements and make clear recommendations. The role will be responsible for the day to day management of software licensing rules, and their application to all uses in the enterprise. As a result extensive knowledge and experience of licensing and license models across multiple vendors including Microsoft, Oracle and IBM are essential for the role. Familiarity with cloud license agreements would also be advantageous.

As the licensing specialist, you will inspire and influence business units within the group to adopt similar approaches to audit software licensing by demonstrating best in class implementations and creating a set of guiding principles & best practices to drive compliance.

The role will be responsible for establishing and managing a source of service level agreements across all services, systems and applications within the IT portfolio to develop, promote, refine and administer a catalogue of IT services available to the business.

The role will support the business practices which will involve managing and optimising the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilisation, and disposal of licenses within the business through the implementation of a software asset management solution.

You will be able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of licensing models around major software providers and will ideally have experience with Microsoft Enterprise Agreements (EA) & Microsoft Products and Services Agreements (MPSA). You will review, negotiate and interpret software license agreements.
