Network Security Analyst
Network Security Analyst required by a leading employer in Peterborough to support the network security systems across a global customer enterprise.
The company is a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group operating in 50 countries. Whilst some companies claim to be ‘the best thing since sliced bread’, this company actually are! In the 1930’s they introduced sliced bread to the UK for the first time.
To assist in the implementation of Company policies and standards on network security matters which embrace all areas of information security risk. You will join a dedicated team of network specialist who support systems across a global enterprise. This includes configuring and troubleshooting the Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls and resolving issues with the Symantec client based firewalls. You'll also be responsible for Network Security incident resolution across the global network and completion of security related service requests across the global estate which covers the US, EMEA and Asia Pac.?
- Occasional site visits UK wide and Europe
You will have strong written and oral communication skills. Able to conduct research into security issues and products as required. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Highly self-motivated and directed. Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation
Problem solving experience working with Checkpoint or Palo Alto Firewalls. IDS, IPS web access and filtering and cloud security working knowledge. Maintaining awareness of current and emerging threats to the Corporate infrastructure. Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, WiFi, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, OSPF
Knowledge of network management and analysis tools, including Solarwinds, Stealthwatch, Wireshark or equivalent. Experience working in a switched and routed environment.
- Cisco CCNA working towards CCNP
- Cisco CCNA Security (desirable)
- Checkpoint CCSA (desirable)
2 stage interview (can be telephone first, if needed) which involves verbal and numerical reasoning.
Basic Salary £36,000
Package: 10% Bonus, 15% Shift Allowance, 10% Matched Pension, 25 days holiday + BH.
