Infrastructure Technician - Based in central London, my client is one of the most iconic UK charities who are globally recognised and supported, they are are a premium brand and who do some incredible work.
The charity helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track. It supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. The charity has helped 825,000 young people since 1976 and supports over 100 more each day.
In the UK, currently there are more than 950,000 young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs). The Trust works with around 55,000 young people across the UK.
You will be part of a an experienced and professional team, as an infrastructure technician you will be responsible for providing Infrastructure technical expertise in mainly Microsoft Windows server environment, Hyper V virtualization, HP SAN storage, HP blade servers and associated technology.
They are also looking into the cloud so you will be experienced in cloud technologies mainly Office 365, MS Azure with knowledge of AWS desirable.
The role will involve the BAU support of the mentioned technologies but you will also be expected to deliver infrastructure projects from the start through to successful implementation ensure quality documentation and handover of 1st line support of the system to the IT service desk team.
You will also be expected to provide 2nd and 3rd line support in the service desk as required.
To be considered for this role you will have the following skills and experience;
- Proven and demonstrable experience with MS Server 2008/2012 R2/2016
- Extensive knowledge of MS Active Directory & ADFS
- Extensive knowledge with designing and implementing Hyper V failover clusters and using System Centre
- Proven experience of working with HP Blade and storage technology or equivalent vendor.
- Experience in networking technologies
- Experience of working with and implementing cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of Exchange 2016, SQL Server
You will have worked in an IT helpdesk role for at least 5 years.
This role is suited to an experience Technical infrastructure engineer who has a passion for new technology and working for passionate and exciting organization.
This role is mainly London based but must have the flexibility to travel throughout the UK as required.
