Head of ICT is required by this large South West Country based Public Service Authority. As Head of ICT, you will provide leadership, motivation and strategic direction to the ICT Department. The role champions the delivery of ICT service through working in partnership with the wider organisation and ensures the requirements for ICT service and project delivery are met through the allocation of appropriate resources and service assets and that these deliveries will be aligned to the authority roadmap.
One of the key success factors of this role will ensure the department’s contribution to enabling a first class service by the Authority.
Key responsibilities will see you setting strategy and maintaining responsibility and accountability for the delivery of ICT services to the organisation. You will manage an operating budget of £8m (revenue £6m, capital £2m).
You will shape the department’s strategic approach to technology, including security, service and stakeholder management, procurement, governance, and capability building and you will give effective line management to a team of circa 60+ staff members, demonstrating familiarity and competence with a range of technical and project management concepts, setting out clear delineations of responsibilities and priorities, and making sure that they have excellent opportunities for career development.
You will manage the leadership and delivery of a new service and target operating model, ensuring a smooth transition for both IT staffing, the user community and wider stakeholder groups and ensure departmental value within the organisation through the application of industry standard service management processes and the appropriate allocation of resource dedicated to the management of service.
The position has a strong leadership already in place and your immediate team will include Technical Management, Service Delivery, Systems Management and Programme Management along with an Administration team.
