Business Planning and Operations Consultant (GIS Related) is required for an initial 3 month assignment, based in Victoria, London and working for and on behalf of this government national mapping agency who are responsible for the surveying, production, maintenance, and marketing of a wide range of geographic information, relied on by government, business, and individuals.
This government agency is creating a new Ventures business which will be responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities in Great Britain and internationally to support global growth. The business area will be GIS and mapping related and may have elements of surveying, production, maintenance, and marketing of a GIS related products and services.
The business is due to become operational by 1 June. We are looking for an operations consultant/PMO to help the new Ventures MD to define the operating and implementation/transition for Ventures.
Essentially, you will be able to demonstrate experience of business planning, which should include setting up a business unit and working through all the implications from each of the functions, this will include a full appraisal and setting up the risk, governance and operating principles.
You will be an experience of project planner and will be able to show clear management around the planning stages.
You will no doubt have extensive organisational skills and will be able to provide demonstrable examples of previous experience, ideally from different sources.
We require you to have strong analytical skills.
Typically as a start-up you will be a strong team player and will have the drive and personality, with the ability to get things done with pace and energy. We would expect you to have at least 10 years within similar leadership roles, ideally you will hold an MBA and will be able to articulate prior experience gained in a consulting environment.
