Job Description

Web & Integration Manager is being sought in Bedford for this UK brand leader who are recognised for their innovation, investment in their people and excellent customer service.  

As the Web & Integration Manager, you will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of the Web and Integration services which are developed to support the existing and emerging business requirements.

You will work with a blend of internal and 3rd party development resources to ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are fully understood and built to meet these requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will understand and ensure application services are built to meet the existing and future state customer journey.

You will review and define specifications that provide attractive and capable web applications and you will identify and use the correct tool sets to manage and track the development of business services.

You will be expected to manage the technical delivery aspects of software services and ensuring that the application services are supportable whilst improving the development efficiency.

It’s likely that you will have around 5+ years of production experience with Web (Java) front or back end, and at least 1 year of experience building high-quality web applications for mobile and desktop.

You will have a very good understanding of open source web technologies, ideally including familiarity with NoSQL databases, PaaS deployment and the use of third party APIs / authentication services.

You will have excellent general development skills and familiarity with modern JavaScript development practices. Ideally, this would include experience with version control, unit testing, continuous integration and code quality tools.

You must be able to lead development discussions, articulate what is required from the development perspective and ensure that the delivery of the solution will be achievable.

Experience working in an agile development team and an understand of a DevOps approach and how to move towards this way of working would be beneficial.
