Software Asset Management Manager

The purpose of the licensing specialist role is to support and guide our business units in the approach towards licensing, audits and asset management.
As the group licensing specialist, you will work closely with a number of key departments including procurement and digital and innovative technology to identify requirements and make clear recommendations. The role will be responsible for the day to day management of software licensing rules, and their application to all uses in the enterprise. As a result extensive knowledge and experience of licensing and license models across multiple vendors including Microsoft, Oracle and IBM are essential for the role. Familiarity with cloud license agreements would also be advantageous.
As the licensing specialist, you will inspire and influence business units within the group to adopt similar approaches to audit software licensing by demonstrating best in class implementations and creating a set of guiding principles & best practices to drive compliance.
The role will be responsible for establishing and managing a source of service level agreements across all services, systems and applications within the IT portfolio to develop, promote, refine and administer a catalogue of IT services available to the business.
The role will support the business practices which will involve managing and optimising the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilisation, and disposal of licenses within the business through the implementation of a software asset management solution.
You will be able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of licensing models around major software providers and will ideally have experience with Microsoft Enterprise Agreements (EA) & Microsoft Products and Services Agreements (MPSA). You will review, negotiate and interpret software license agreements.
We would expect you to perform some financial analysis and planning related to software spend and you will no doubt have proven experience with SAM solutions and implementations and will be able to respond appropriately to an audit as well as managing requests from business units for license purchases.
You will be able to develop supplier relationships to provide better pricing and services and will work closely with Technology Procurement when purchasing licenses to ensure most efficient purchasing structure is utilised.
We anticipate you working closely with Technical Procurement to put in place appropriate purchasing structures across the Group, for the different suppliers on the market as well as ensuring licensing knowledge is kept up to date and relevant within the fast changing world of Technology.
