Senior Security Engineer
£65,000 - £80,000 a year - Permanent
Do you have experience in web filtering tools such as ZScaler or SIEM tools such as Splunk? Can you recognise some of the biggest InfoSec threats today and would you know how to address them technically? Have you worked with IT operations teams?
We`re looking for a Senior Security Engineer to cover the UK, and be the first addition in a new Centre of Excellence for the delivery of Information Security as a service to our client. The role will report directly into the Head of Information Security for Europe and will be the primary technical InfoSec SME in the region.
You will participate in security projects, collaborating with IT peers to implement security technologies, tools and processes, and evaluate, implement and manage systems which provide security services within the company network. You will not only manage technical security monitoring and the incident management process, but recommend security improvements and coordinate with systems owners to implement. Last but not least, you will develop and monitor key metrics and reporting on a regular basis including how the defences fared against threats, trends, technology performance indicators, coverage gaps, project reports, incidents, alerts, etc.
To succeed in this role you will have a Bachelor`s Degree in a related field or a Security Certification (e.g. CISSP, SSCP, or similar), 4 years in a similar role and experience using ZScaler and Splunk ideally.
You will have hands on experience in working with security systems/technologies such as IDS/IPS, AV, end point protection, VPN, SIEM, Proxies/Content filtering, Firewalls etc. You will have a deep knowledge/understanding of security technologies, protocols, concepts such as networks, firewall management, system hardening, encryption, PKI, malware analysis and protection, IDS/IPS, Application firewalls, and different types of attacks. You will understand securing cloud applications / infrastructure including deployment/management of similar technologies in cloud and have a strong fluency of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs (including Project and Visio).
