Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Salary: 50-60k + Bonus (20%) + Bens

The Role

As a member of the Information Security – Security Operations team (InfoSec SecOps); you will maintain the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the information and information systems. This will primarily be achieved through identification and mitigation of risk through security systems management and incident management. Responsibilities Include:

  • To take responsibility for the operational support of specific security technologies, products and services to ensure that they satisfy the organisations security needs economically, efficiently and effectively
  • To monitor internal and external cyber threats and vulnerabilities and ensure that technical controls are appropriate
  • Rapid response, detection, isolation and remediation of information security incidents 
  • To provide IT teams with security focused technical support, training and consultancy to ensure compliance with security standards, policies and legislation
  • As part of a managed project evaluate products and related technologies that mitigate risk and recommend and support their introduction.
  • Rapid response, detection, isolation and remediation of information security incidents
  • Reporting to and informing management of incidents and incident prevention activities
  • Develop and operate procedures that counteract potential threats/vulnerabilities

Key Skills Required

The jobholder must have a thorough understanding of the Information security threat landscape, significant risks, technical developments and directions.  Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the jobholder must be able to operate effectively at all levels within and outside of the organisation.

Essential

  • At least 3 years in IT Security/IT Operations, or equivalent position
  • Experience in Threat Intelligence or Threat Hunting
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into threats and vulnerabilities and preventative capabilities
  • Security Incident handling experience
  • Proven experience in writing Information Security Standards, procedures and guidelines
  • Familiarity with industry recognised security standard such as ISO or COBIT
  • Ability to project manage discrete security projects
  • Excellent Communication skills, ability to build strong relationships and influence decisions with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Experience with SIEM Tools, Security Logs/Monitoring, IDS.
  • MSc Information Security
  • Vendor technology trained (certifications) e.g. Antimalware, Intrusion prevention, email security management technologies, vulnerability scanning
  • AWS
