We are looking to recruit a Network Security Analyst to join our growing team in Peterborough. You will benefit from working in a fast-paced technical support environment, as part of our security team tasked with managing our firewall estate and core networking equipment.

Exposed to a large and complex multinational environment, you will form part of a team that are focused on maintaining and improving our network security posture.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundational knowledge of networking, a good understanding of firewall technology, a passion for security and an eagerness and aptitude to quickly learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve Network Security incidents across our global network
  • Work with 3rd party suppliers to resolve and escalate issues if required
  • Maintain and update technical network documentation.
  • Change governance for firewall policy changes
  • Maintain network device hygiene and secure configuration
  • Use monitoring and analytical tools to proactively identify issues

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

Must Have:

College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience

Cisco CCNA

Desirable:

Cisco CCNA Security

Vendor firewall certification, such as Checkpoint CCSA

 

Knowledge & Experience

A solid understanding of networking concepts

Problem solving experience working with Firewalls (ideally Palo Alto or Checkpoint)

Exposure to IDS, IPS, web access/filtering and cloud security systems

An interest and understanding of current and emerging security threats

Hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards including Ethernet, WiFi, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, OSPF

Knowledge of network management and analysis tools

Experience working in a switched and routed environment
