Cyber Security Analyst

Location – Northampton

Salary – up to £40k package

An excellent opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join a leading FinTech Company based in Northampton to undertake a range of tasks supporting their key business objectives as directed within the Information Security environment. The role is of a consultative, governance and advisory nature and pertains to the enforcement of Information Security regulations and policies within the company.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for the completion of all assigned Information security activity and associated reporting within defined operational standards and agreed performance targets
  • Responsible for supporting the delivery of Information Security policy, standards and guidelines documentation across the organisation and client base
  • Accountable for Logical Access Management governance across the organisation and client base
  • Responsible for supporting the delivery of the Information Security awareness programme across the organisation
  • Accountable for the completion (with evidence) of any controls and checks that support the Information Security operation, or that maintain Information Security risk levels to within tolerance
  • Responsible for the management of deviations to policy via dispensation, passing data to Central Risk as required ensuring balance is maintained between policy adherence-dispensation-risk
  • Ensures information security risk is managed within tolerance, in conjunction with the IT Risk Analysts
  • Provide consultative Information Security support to the rest of the business (includes delivery of training materials as required) ? Provide security resource to the business change programme
  • Work within the change programmed projects to ensure that solutions are secure.
  • Identify Information Security Risks in conjunction with both the IT Risk Analyst and the business, qualify and support the risk owner in the development of appropriate controls by way of mitigation
  • Work with the client base in support of internal and external security assurance activity, and BAU security operations issues – includes hosting meetings and reviews as required in support of this objective
  • Work with the client base to ensure client systems audit and governance in place (residual risks passed to central risk via process owner)
  • Undertake activities as required to assure the operational effectiveness of controls that mitigate or otherwise manage Information Security risk within tolerance
  • Produce and deliver complete, accurately and timely management information for their key governance forums; this includes measure of Information Security Support service demand and service quality, and any data for inclusion on the relevant managed scorecard
  • Develop and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and third party suppliers to ensure effective management of security arrangements are in place at all times

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience of working in Information security in a relevant role, e.g System administrator, Consultant, Architect, Analyst
  • General understanding of IT Security principles, standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 27001, CMA [1990], DPA [1998]) SOX
  • Knowledge of network security architecture
  • Knowledge of Operating systems security
  • Good knowledge of Logical Access management and Identity management
  • Experienced in threat & vulnerability assessments
  • Familiar with practical application of cryptography
  • Confident and able to build good working relationships with direct team and internal customers
  • Commitment to deliver and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Effectively prioritises tasks to ensure delivery meets time critical deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
