Business Analyst (IT Development team)

Joining one of the UK’s most iconic UK charities who are recognised globally, they perform an amazing job working with and developing young people, based in central London.

Working specifically in the Development team, you will be working closely with the Developers detailing the business requirements for all BAU change and many IT development projects you will have key relationships with business stake holders, including senior members of staff, and many departments across the charity.

You will be required to perform Business Analysis on IT projects with the development team. This is not a technical role in itself but you will be working on technical projects – it will be a blend of analytics across the SDLC as well as process mapping and change projects.     

Typically, this will include:- Project scoping and business case analysis and documentation. Stakeholder identification, management and expectations management. Requirements elicitation:- including running and / or advising on workshops, interviews, observations, questionnaires and other formal and non-formal forms of elicitation.

Analysing and documenting requirements including:- Analysing requirements in order to fill gaps, remove conflict, remove solutionising, remove duplication, reduce ambiguity and provide appropriate detail for all stakeholders.

Analysing requirements using modelling techniques such as process flow diagrams, data models, rich pictures, state models, etc.

Writing requirements documentation, including writing requirement catalogues, functional specifications and user stories.

Requirements/change management:- running BAU change management processes, setting up and running project change management processes, and advising project teams on the same.

Desirable and not essential, you will have a professional qualification in business analysis, or project management and cloud based CRM systems, Familiar with Web Centre Sites, or equivalent web site content management technology and SOA or equivalent Service Bus Technologies, you will have a broad understanding of the trends in IT software development and knowledge of SQL and databases. The starting salary will be circa 30k but has plenty of scope for growth and development with the pay scale moving up to £39,350 per annum over time.
